RERA
Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016.
RERA is the central law that regulates real estate projects and protects buyers. Each state runs its own authority — in Bangalore this is Karnataka RERA. Promoters must register qualifying projects, disclose project details, and deposit a share of collections in a dedicated account. A valid RERA number lets a buyer verify a project on the public state portal.
